Ice skating

Those wishing to get onto the ice don’t have to look far in the Engadin. Equipped with skates, you can glide almost weightlessly on the natural ice rinks at Lake St. Moritz or Chesa al Parc.

Transparent and mirror-smooth: After every long period of frost without snowfall, the lakes of the Upper Engadin are covered with black ice, a stunning natural phenomenon that just has to be experienced. Equipped with skates, you can glide almost weightlessly on the vast and breathtakingly beautiful natural ice rink of Lake St. Moritz.

You can also practise your pirouettes at the Chesa al Parc natural ice rink right next to the Kulm Hotel or all year round at the Ludains Ice Arena in St. Moritz Bad. For thrills, the Madulain ice trail is a wonderful alternative. On narrow blades, the “fastest hiking trail in the world”, also known as the Skateline, takes you along the riverbank amidst glistening winter landscapes.
