Its café on the Spanish Steps in Rome, which opened in 1896, was famous for its patisseries. This passion for sweet things was soon combined with that for beauty. Carlo Eleuteri began to collect exclusive jewels and rare individual pieces by Bulgari, Cartier, and Cleef & Arpels with a deep sense for art. Today, the company is Italy's undisputed leader in vintage jewellery.
