Where wind and water move St. Moritz

If you feel like getting some fresh air and exercise on a free afternoon, the water is waiting for you. Whether you glide leisurely across the lake on a stand-up paddleboard or feel the breeze on your face while sailing, here you will find the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.

Sailing

Sailing regattas even in midsummer? The Maloja wind makes it possible. On beautiful summer days, it starts to blow around noon, providing perfect wind conditions. The highlights of the sailing season on Lake St. Moritz and Lake Silvaplana are the Swiss, European, and, in some cases, world championships for dinghies and Lasers. For optimal preparation, you can attend the sailing school, among other things. Here you can prepare for the sailing exam, which you can take right on site. You can also rent sailing boats and rowing boats at the sailing club or book an accompanied trip on a yacht.

Stand up paddel

The water is smooth as glass and calm, the surrounding nature untouched – gliding across the Engadin mountain lakes on a board in the morning is particularly idyllic. Stand-up paddleboarding has been the trend sport of recent years. Stand with your feet hip-width apart on the board, knees slightly bent, and paddle rhythmically – this water sport challenges every single muscle and trains your balance. SUP is simply part of summer in the Engadin.
