Based on a photo of the Engadine band Johannes Nogler taken in Scuol in 1913, the newly founded Kapelle Nogler revives the melodies of Johannes (1860-1938) and his father Rudolf Nogler (1829-1888) from Ardez. The original sound with three strings and small clarinet will be listened to, but also many musical developments that have passed by since then. Three of today´s musicians are members of the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, Clarigna Küng is one of the most accomplished violinists from Appenzell. Hence the journey to the Alpstein, where the band mixes up traditional Appenzell string music with clarinet and Clarigna´s new arrangements.
Clarigna Küng: violin and arrangements
Florian Walser: clarinets in D and B and arrangements
Johannes Gürth: violin and viola
Peter Kosak: double bass
