Refugee policy and admission practices are among the most controversial aspects of the Second World War in Switzerland. Graubünden was confronted with this especially in the years 1943 to 1945 at the southern border. What was the refugee policy like? How did the population perceive the refugees? For what motives did people flee to Graubünden? The historian Christian Ruch uses impressive documents and reports to shed light on how refugees were dealt with, between readiness to accept them and their rejection.

In collaboration with the Institute for Cultural Research Graubünden.
