Three emerging contemporary African artists are drawn together in their reflection about the future of their continent : Sandiry Niang (Senegal), Doff (Chad) and Gonçalo Mabunda (Mozambique).
Niang, who has been raised in a family with 17 children is challenging the social architecture of a household, where a human grows up with no private sphere and no space to unfold as an individuum. In all his works you will find «the three observers of your privacy». He challenges the political elites, that for more grassroot political participation as adults, the upbringing conditions of children must be improved.
Doff and Mabunda, both antiwar activists, environmental upcycling artists with a strong political questioning, both collect abandoned materials, especially bullet-casings from the civil wars to create objects that transform a past tainted with a tragedy into beautiful, very often funny artworks, to convey the message of a potential bright future no matter the burden.
The exhibition will take place at Château Papillon Annexe, Kempinski St.Moritz, Adriano Bulgheroni Boutique.
