After the death of his father, the youngest of three miller's sons is left with only the seemingly useless cat.
His eldest brother inherited the mill and the middle brother the donkey. The young miller's son is disappointed and desperate - how is he supposed to manage his life on his own? The cat turns out to be a good friend, however, and the miller's son has no choice but to trust him. The cat is convinced that with his skills and a little cunning he can help his master get what he deserves. So they set off together to shape the future.
