In the heart of St. Moritz, mobility history comes to life: The St. Moritz Design Gallery, elegantly integrated into the Serletta car park, features a striking exhibition across 31 large, illuminated display cases along the escalator leading to the lake.
The Summer Exhibition 2025 is dedicated to “100 Years of Automobility in Graubünden.” Under the title “Petrol, Peaks, and Progress,” historical photographs illustrate how the automobile has shaped St. Moritz and the Engadin since 1925 – from the early days of individual motorized transport and the momentum of the postwar era to today’s everyday mobility. The arrival of cars transformed not only the roadscape but also the appearance of villages, the soundscape, and our relationship with the surrounding alpine environment.
This journey through time comes especially alive through three public guided tours, held during the summer’s most important automotive events: the elegant British Classic Car Meeting St. Moritz in July, the refined Italian classic car gathering Passione Engadina in August, and the legendary hill climb Bernina Gran Turismo in September. Meeting point: Entrance to the Design Gallery, at the level of Badrutt’s Palace Hotel. The tours are held in German, last approximately one hour, and are free of charge. Prior registration is appreciated.
