Segantini Museum, Via Somplaz 30, St. Moritz
Snow has always been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for painting. Beautiful evidence of this can currently be admired in the Segantini Museum. The exhibition "The Many Colors of Snow" includes, in addition to alpine winter landscapes by the "master of the house", works by Giovanni Giacometti, Edoardo Berta and several Italian colleagues who considered Giovanni Segantini their teacher and role model. The highlights of the show include the Segantini masterpiece "Savognino d'inverno" from 1890, which is being exhibited for the first time in Switzerland and is privately owned, Giovanni Giacometti's colorful "Paesaggio d'inverno" from 1910 and "Funerale bianco" from 1901, the symbolist masterpiece of the Ticino artist Edoardo Berta.
On Sundays 23 February, 16 and 30 March, at 5 p.m., Mirella Carbone, artistic director of the Segantini Museum, offers a special guided tour of the winter exhibition.
