Architecture walk - open doors in the Engadin and Bergell

For the St. Moritz High Altitude Training and Competition Center (HTWZ), Krähnenbühl Architekten and the civil engineering firm Walter Bieler AG designed two new buildings - a storage building and a changing room pavilion. The size and shape of the storage building were largely determined by the elements of the mobile, temporary changing room pavilion to be stored, which is set up next to the tartan track for the summer months. The pavilion is characterized by its lightness and filigree. The wooden construction with its connections and the dimensions of the components are designed to enable easy assembly and dismantling as well as storage in the winter months. The storage building is positioned parallel to the St. Borromäus Church and forms the transition from the church's forecourt and parking lot to the sports grounds. As a permanent element of the sports facility, the building sits on a solid base and is clad in larch shingles. The production was carried out by local and regional companies. For example, the larch shingles are hand-split in St. Moritz.
