Fruits of Baroque Jam Sessions
At the beginning of the 18th century, musicians no longer wanted to serve the nobility or the church, but wanted to make music freely and without constraints among themselves. This desire gave rise to bourgeois house music, and the Collegium Musicum was founded in Leipzig and the Freitagsakademie in Berlin. There, young talents and experienced musicians entered into lively dialogue, overcoming creative boundaries together and creating space for new, innovative forms of expression. The fruits of these baroque jam sessions will be presented to you on historical instruments by renowned baroque specialists from Zurich, Basel, Leipzig, Berlin, and Chemnitz. Performing for you are: Linda Bärlocher, oboe, Michaela Hasselt, harpsichord, Almut Schlicker, violin, Christiane Gagelmann, violin, Wolfgang von Kessinger, viola, Bettina Messerschmidt, cello. Doors open: 7:00 p.m., start: 7:30 p.m. Admission free - collections welcome.
