Sils painter Andrea Robbi, who died 80 years ago, leaves behind a small body of work of extraordinary intensity. His paintings testify to his connection with the rugged landscape of the Engadine, in which he recognized himself, and the Alpine way of life of the people of his village. The simplicity of his virtuoso visual language, without idealizing or exaggerating, creates an inner tension, depth, and intimacy that reveals his emotional world, his doubtful self-reflection, and melancholy. The Sils Museum is dedicating a comprehensive exhibition to the artist in 2025/26.

The Sils Museum, located in the Chesa Fonio, dedicates its annually changing exhibitions to themes related to the art and culture, history, and present of the town and region. The Andrea Robbi Foundation, which manages the museum, is also tasked with preserving the artistic legacy of the important Sils painter Andrea Robbi and making it accessible to the public.
